TBCTA’s Spring Tennis Events

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Thermal Belt Community Tennis Association (TBCTA) is organizing an evening clinic of tennis drills to take place Thursday, May 1st at 6:00 p.m. on the Harmon Field courts.  Registration is not required - just show up.  All levels of players, but with some knowledge of the game, aged 16 and older, are welcome.  A fee of $10 will be charged to those who are not members of TBCTA.  To join as a single member is $15, or $25 for the whole family.

In addition, TBCTA is again hosting Spring Team Tennis “Mixers” on the Harmon Field courts.  This year, the games will take place every evening for 5 weeks from May 8th through June 5th in the evenings.  (Some matches will begin at 5 p.m. and others at 6 or 6:30 – let us know your availability.)   Arranged games for all levels of players will offer mixed, mens’ and ladies’ doubles.  These “tennis mixers” provide opportunities to meet other tennis players of varying abilities and to compete against different opponents in a casual, social atmosphere.  It’s not serious competition, although it can be!  The purpose is to get to know other tennis players in the area, get some exercise, and have fun!   Registration by May 1st and membership are required.

In order to participate in the Team Tennis Mixers, each player or substitute must be a member of the TBCTA and have paid dues for the 2007-2008 year.  If someone wants to join now, you’ll get 2 free months.  The membership fee is $15 for a single membership or $25 for family and will cover dues through June 30, 2009).  Think of this small fee basically as a contribution to support tennis in our community.  Socials occur regularly throughout the year and are limited to members in good standing and their spouse/guest.

NOTE: Although Team Tennis matches are scheduled for 5 Thursday evenings, if you are unable to play all 5 weeks, there’s a lot of flexibility.  You can play some of the weeks, or be a substitute and called when needed.  Just let us know when you can play.
