Money Plant Silver Head Plant.jpg (53763 bytes)

Old-fashioned garden plant, grown for silvery, translucent circles (about 1 1/4 inches across) that stay on flower stalks after seeds drop.  Plants are 1 1/2 - 3 feet high, with coarse, heart-shaped, toothed leaves.  Spring flowers resemble wild mustard blooms but are purple or white, not yellow.  There is a form with variegated leaves.  Plant in an out-of-the-way spot in poor soil or in a mixed flower bed where shining pods can be admired before they are picked for dry bouquets.  Tough, persistent; can reseed and become weedy.
