Gluten 2014*

From the Kitchen of Serendipity Ranch

 

After a lot of research and experimenting over the past year, I have come up with a newer version to my Gluten recipe. Experimenting will continue!

Mix together:

2 cups Vital Wheat Gluten
1/2 cup Nutritional Yeast
4 teaspoons Onion Powder
2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
1 Tablespoon Beef Seasoning

Mix together and then add to the dry mix:

1 3/4 cups Cold Water
2 Tablespoons Oil
1 Tablespoon Liquid Smoke Flavoring

Knead for two to three minutes. The longer you knead the tougher will be the end product.
Let stand for ten minutes before cooking.

Ways to fix the above:

Steam:  Divide into four parts. Loosely w
rap each part in aluminum foil in form you desire (i.e. hot dogs, sausage)

Boil in following broth for two to four hours (Two hours will keep it more tender):
8 Cups Water
4 Tablespoons Beef Seasoning
2 Tablespoons Garlic Powder
4 Tablespoons Onion Powder
2 Tablespoons Liquid Smoke
2 Tablespoons Oil
