Accomplishments:

Curiosities:  There were dancing horses in Persia hundreds of years before Christ, but they would have had to be very skilled to outdo the dancing ponies of Sumba.  These ponies dance to the beat of tom-toms, with bells on their ankles, usually a small boy as a rider, and the directions conveyed via a lunge rope by their proud owners.  The ponies' eyes seem to enlarge and glow as they "give" to the rhythm of the contest, and marks are awarded for lightness and elegance.
